Your role at Tumi: 

We are seeking Director of Store Design to join our Store Design team.

This position will be responsible for designing and developing our existing store concept and evolving the store design and experience. We are seeking an individual that understandings interior / store design across multiple layers from design, floor layout, costing and functionality.  This candidate should be comfortable working collaboratively across multi-department.

Strong organizational and communication skills are a must along with strong attention to detail. Is comfortable speaking and presenting to team leaders and cross functional partners. The successful candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


•         This role will need to manage projects and creative output independently


•         This role reports to the Head Brand Experience with a dotted line to the creative director and will work as a strong partner with the retail and store construction teams.


•         You will need to deliver creative vision for all Store Design projects to maintain consistency in brand standards across the globe


•         You, alongside the Head of Brand Experience will concept creative solutions for all store environment new initiatives and events, presenting your collective ideas for approval through the Creative Team and cross-functional partners


•         You will manage execution of our current design using 2D drawings, 3D models and renderings


•         You will manage all information received from our regional partners and continue to build upon our Store Design Guidelines and library


•         You will produce guidelines for all new global initiatives in-store for distribution to the regional teams


•         You will assist in managing and maintaining a material library and continue to evolve this with fresh ideas, sustainable solutions, and alternate options


•         At this time, you will manage one direct report

We’re Excited if you have:


•         Highly proficient 2D program experience Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and/or 3D CAD.


•         5+ years of professional experience in architecture, store design, furniture design or event design


•         Having interest in the luxury retail world, materials, furniture, and sustainable design


•         Must be able to design at multiple scales from lighting details to furnishings


•         Must understand manufacturing and have the ability to develop stores and fixtures from concept to production and beyond within an allocated budget


•         Agility and flexibility, a collaborative team player who can multi-task and be responsible for multiple projects and team vision


•         Having an eye for detail and bigger picture, able to understand and illustrate concepts, storytelling, and strategy


•         Organizational and communication skills and demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize 


•         Background or interest in consumer experience through 3D space and environment


•         Being skilled with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft


•         Having the ability to produce drawing sets and study/review millwork shop drawings


•         Being comfortable with communication with internal and external teams


•         Enthusiastic, energetic, and works well on a team as well as independently
