Your role at Tumi:
This role is responsible for developing the strategic approach that defines the Womens merchandise mix for all TUMI DTC channels. Drive the evolution of this category and tailor the brand’s global product objectives for the North America region. Consistently benchmark and deliver against all financial targets.
- Lead the Womens Omni Merchandising strategy and develop the sales mix that balances brand vision, trend, and business drivers for all NA DTC Channels, including Retail Stores, Ecommerce and Outlet locations.
- In partnership with Product Management this role will influence the global assortment and support future development. Provide product needs based on performance, market, and customer insight to drive the Womens business strategy, financial plan, and sku capacity.
- Work side by side with Planning to develop seasonal collection plans and product investments. Drive decisions and strategies to ensure achievement of financial plans as well as inventory turn and GM goals.
- Develop and support the seasonal “Go to Market” strategy with Marketing, E-commerce, Planning, VM and Retail operations to support new product / category launches, Brand Campaigns, Email features, and special events.
- Recommend pricing architecture for North America with a keen understanding of the competitive marketplace and TUMI brand positioning.
- Determine end of life strategy in partnership with Product Management and Planning, including timing for discontinued and seasonal product, promotional cadence, and transfer to outlets.
- Collaborate with Visual on seasonal collection flow ensuring product is merchandised to maximize brand focus and storytelling moments, collaborate on Window Rotations, Front Table changes and overall store experience.
- Leverage consumer research and external insights to inform product strategies and business growth opportunities.
- Build out Store and E-commerce profiles to improve buying strategies and tailor assortments, including location, customer, competitive landscape, size / capacity.
- Pilot test programs in both Brick and Mortar and E-commerce to obtain quantitative and qualitative feedback that identify risk / opportunities against future forecasts.
We’re Excited if you have:
- 2+ years of experience at Senior Manager level or above in Retail Buying or Merchandising. Vertical experience a plus.
- Experience in Branded Womens Handbags and Accessories a strong preference
- Has managed a business of significant volume & option count.
- Strategic thinker who recognizes opportunities and able to influence decision makers to move to execution.
- Agile and adaptable; comfortable taking initiative in an entrepreneurial environment
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel Skills and Microsoft Suite. E xperience creating and presenting business strategies.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
